Welcome!
My name is Meheresh Yeditha, and I am a Software Engineer at Microsoft and a Master's Student in Computational Linguistics at the University of Washington. I did my undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon, where I TA'd multiple classes in functional programming and did research at CMU's Language Technologies Institute.
On this page you'll find everything from descriptions of cool upcoming projects to past jobs and internship experiences. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Selected Projects
Sublime Spelling and Grammar Check Plugin
May 2017–Present
Working on creating a comprehensive, quick, Microsoft Word-esque spelling and grammar checker as a plugin for Sublime Text. Many people in the computer science community extensively use Sublime as a text editor, so I believe such a tool could be of use. Following test-driven development.
Predictive NBA Classifier
January 2017–May 2017
Wrote a paper on using machine learning tools to predict the results of NBA games (classification) and the margin of victory (regression). Utilized extensive feature space design, parameter tuning, and data scraping.
Automated World Generation
May 2017–Present
Iterative algorithm-based project (based on my work on the project below) to create a more comprehensive, realistic world generation algorithm than ones currently available. Based on two-opt polygon generation, machine-learning based rules for biome generation.
Three Dimensional Terrain Generator
May 2014–March 2015
Worked on more optimized, more realistic terrain generation based on improvements to the diamond-square algorithm. Created in Java and demonstrated in JMonkeyEngine.
This Website
September 2016–Present
An experiment in minimalism and modernism. Designed carefully by hand to contrast with the Bootstrap-powered excesses of my old website(s). Currently on iteration #4.
Hello There!
Welcome to my landing page for my musical adventures! Music is truly a universal language, and I have enjoyed making and listening to music for as long as I can remember. Here you'll find music reviews, playlists, and links to some good music. Hope you enjoy!
What I'm Listening To Right Now
Untrue
Burial
As pretty much everyone around me can attest, my recent obsession has been unpacking the sounds and experiences in this remarkable album, and understanding how it affects others.
Unlike other great albums I've heard, this one doesn't revel in or even acknowledge its own greatness. It creaks and wobbles and wheezes like a rickety wooden rollercoaster. Built on top of skeletal beats and a rich bass sound and topped off by ghostly samples resonating like echoes in a forest, each and every track is striking, haunting, even strangely uplifting. As you listen to each track, it feels like you're watching a mini arthouse movie, stripped of all of the symbolism and pretension and intellectual messages until all you have left is a feeling - an aching and melancholy and optimistic feeling that despite your past, there's a world of beauty and wonder out there to discover. Critics classify this album as "dubstep", but the difference in vibe between this and music produced by an artist like Skrillex could not be more apparent.
Favorite tracks: Ghost Hardware, Archangel, Etched Headplate, Raver
A Love Supreme
John Coltrane
I just got into jazz, and this is amazing! A super spiritual, musically superb, unique album from a jazz legend.
New Energy
Four Tet
When club beats meet Indian classical music. And it works! Another great album from the electronic legend.
who told you to think??!!?!?!?!
milo
The man tends to get caught up in his own intellectual musings, but it's still a great album with some quality lines!
Deewane
I'm also a part of the a cappella community at Carnegie Mellon, and serve as Music Director of CMU Deewane, an Indian fusion group. Check out our Facebook page here!
